Plenty O' Drama

This is the story of a simple lad from Oshawa who queue-jumped from 'new guy' to 'guardian angel' in under an hour... missed phonecalls and opportunities......and a Top Gun who tried to escape...

Just beyond Rouge Hill, we came upon a dead train, the 7:42 Pickering express. The fix involved sending Junior outside (doesn't it always??) while Brian relayed the plan to all of us on the train. We'd hook up to the injured train and push it to Union... which of course meant that Pat and Mike would either have to get off at Guildwood and wait for the next train, or go on to Union and double back to Danforth.

Decisions, decisions! Pat's previous experience at Union was not a good one... and she wasn't sure she could negotiate the route back to Danforth and Main... but Mike - the new guy - came to her rescue! "I'll take you! Stick with me!" I suppose we'll hear on Monday whether he made good on his promise or took off and left Pat to fend for herself... ;-) And although we first thoughtPaul was trying to flee the scene, I assure you he was just doing his Top Gun thing out the window, supervising the operation. And the missed phonecalls...? While I was photojournaling the whole drama, someone kept messing up my shots by calling me. Being the dedicated photog that I am, I ignored the CONSTANT stream of attempted calls. Of course, when Denise and Lisa got on at Guildwood, they informed me of the opportunity I had denied them... the chance to inform the whole platform crowd that THEY ALONE knew why the train was half an hour late because THEY ALONE had a contact on the inside.

Sorry guys... when duty calls, I nod off, shake myself awake, grab a bite to eat, re-apply my lipstick, adjust my cape, peer off toward the distant horizon... and then, react.

And let me tell you about the surreal experience I had tonight. Ben's been telling me for the past couple of weeks that he and his buds are doing a show at the Kathedral on Queen St. November 27. Yeah, yeah. And today he tells me that some noise metal show is going to play their stuff on the radio tonight on 92.7 FM. Hmmm, really? Well, all the time I've been writing this, I've been listening to TheNew Noise with Dahn Mirabelli- Noise core and politically motivated music . Ben and Jeff called up and spoke to the host on-air. Very cool. It seems they are playing that show: http://www.thebigbop.com/bop_calendar_november_2005.html If you are down on Queen St on the 27th, check them out: The First of the Last. I have to figure out a way to be there without standing out in a crowd of 16-24 year old male noisecore fanatics....hmmm...

I must say, you are one hot hunky man, Junior. It is a good think you are not a GO 405 regular or I would be in BIG trouble!
