unix/linux geek, will travel?

What a week! I've just been given news that the company I'm working for has found a full-time employee to do what I do (or try..). They've given me a generous three month transition time to train the new hiree, but then I'll be here only as needed as of July 1st. So keep your eyes and ears open for me until then and perhaps I can continue taking the '405 if I find something by then..

Main info; 25+ years of C and Unix (all flavours, Solaris, HP/ux etc.), 14 years of Linux, all the usual *nix scripting languages, great communication skills etc.

Thanks! See you all next week.

sorry to hear about this Bill. I strongly believe that one door closes and 3 more open up..
I am sure things will work out for you.

Wow, that blows my 'wallow' out of the water. Bummer, Bill. Or is it a good thing?? Perhaps it is not such a bad thing as Phil states above....Perhaps a break will be good for you too. You work so hard. I took 1 1/2 years off when I was in my mid 30's and I don't regret it for a minute.

It's always a shock when someone makes the decision for you, but, at the risk of soundy preachy, I have to agree with the others: there are lots of opportunities out there and one will be exactly perfect for you.

I will keep my eyes open for you, Bill!
